Graduated from NYU Tisch, Story Chen is an award-winning director with expertise in films, commercials and music videos. Her narrative film “A Woman’s Gaze” won the Best Short Film Award in the Hollywood International Film Festival.

Her own identity as a hybrid of both eastern and western culture cultivates her keen eyes on prevailing themes of humanity that transcends culture and racial differences. Aspired to become a narrative film director, Story believes that great stories sprout from reality. She focuses on depicting emotion and struggles of real life. Her stories also put a spotlight on minorities like Asian women, LGBTQ and children. Story aims to voice for groups she identifies with and cares for.

From high-end commercials for brands like Lush and Laihing Jewlery to engaging music videos for Chinese top singer Jiang Ying Rong and Hong Chen, the story always comes first.

Currently Story is based in New York and Beijing.

陈剑莹

出生于1995年的陈剑莹是中国最年轻一代的电影人之一。在中国出生长大的她在18岁时，独自远赴纽约大学Tisch电影学院攻读导演专业。她的许多作品中都有中国文化的印记，而中西结合的成长背景让她能够穿过文化和种族的界限，寻找人性共通的主题。专注于故事片的她，坚信动人的故事源于生活。她的作品着重表现了人性真实的情感与挣扎，尤其将眼光对准了女性，LGBT，以及儿童这类少数群体，希望能为她关注的群体发声。

2014年导演 编剧 主演 《流之》 实验短片 入围第一届纽约美洲电影节实验短片单元。2014年 导演 编剧制片《不可思议之奇幻城堡 90s 百事可乐MAX广告》，入围第21届北京大学生电影节商业短片竞赛单元。2014年编剧执导短片《紫伞不散》，2015年在巴黎指导法语短片《在亲吻中启程》，同年在纽约执导中文短片《戏》

2016年编剧执导短片《她的眼光》获得好莱坞国际电影节最佳短片，入围第69届戛纳电影节短片角，入围全美三大LGBT电影节之一，第24届华盛顿国际电影节短片单元，入围拥有奥斯卡提名资格的新西兰Show Me Shorts电影节，欧洲圣彼得堡国际电影节，东京Lift Off电影节等多个国际电影节。

2017年执导短片《Marina》获得 挪威国际电影节的最佳国际短片，包揽五洲国际电影节最佳导演，最佳短片，最佳编剧，最佳男女主角，洛杉矶独立电影节最佳学生短片，还提名了 2018纽约独立电影节以及2018伦敦影展最佳短片，更在导演陈剑莹的母校纽约大学学院奖中包揽最佳男女主角，最佳音效，Nestor Almendros摄影奖，以及Carl Lerner社会贡献奖。这也是导演继短片《她的眼光》后第二部入围戛纳电影节短片角的作品，即将于今年五月份在戛纳电影节展映。

商业作品： 2018年执导歌手洪辰MV《妄想症》《怪物》。2014－2017连续四年执导纽约Laihing Jewelry 品牌年度广告，2016年执导美国手工沐浴品牌LUSH bath bomb广告。2016年执导歌手洪辰MV《腔骨龙》和《Fucking Love》，江映蓉美国版MV《Love Wins》。
